Blake Stitched By Hand
This style is constructed using the Blake method. It’s characterized by a double binding (blake and rapid, precisely): while the first attaches upper, lining and insole; the second one secures the insole and outside sole together. The shoes are therefore easy to resole, and have greater flexibility.
Full Calf Lined Interior
These shoes are fully-lined with soft calfskin leather, which means ultimate comfort. Most companies will only partially line their shoes, but we go the extra mile because it means a more comfortable shoe and less break-in time.
What is MTO Standard Production?
Calf Suede: soft, splendid, unique.
Barrel-dyed suede calfskin that is fresh, breathable, water-resistant and particularly soft. Perfect for hot weather. Sourced from tanneries in Italy and Spain, and cut by hand by our artisans in Almansa, Spain.
Meet the Leather + Rubber Injections Blake Sole
There are many reasons why leather has been used for centuries for soles: it’s hardwearing, flexible, practical, long lasting and beautiful. But leather soles might be slippery on wet conditions. That’s why rubber injections in the shape of treads –like a tire– are added for extra grip performance and durability. Although they are seen as formal soles, they also provide an outdoorsy look.
Entirely cut by hand
The Clicking Department is the first stage of production. The
highly skilled Clickers (whose name derives from the 'click'
sound made when the knife is removed from the leather) use
predetermined patterns to intricately cut the shoe's uppers and
linings. Each Clicker design and grind the blade of their knife to
their own personal taste and working preference.
